The Story

On a cold Halloween night, you stand alone in a cemetery, the pale glow of a vintage television cutting through the darkness. It is more than a machine; it is a prison. Following the desperate instructions in a lost journal, you are here to perform a ritual to free a soul you hold dear—a soul trapped within the television's endless, screaming static.

The TV is an anchor between worlds, and its channels do not show broadcasts. They show echoes... fragmented memories locked in time. You must tune in, solve the echoes, and complete the ritual before you draw the attention of the prison's Warden.

Gameplay

Channel Crypt is a first-person puzzle game where all interaction happens through the haunted television.

• PEER INTO THE ECHO BOX: The TV is your only window into the puzzles. Each channel reveals a different, surreal graveyard diorama.
• SOLVE CROSS-CHANNEL PUZZLES: A clue on one channel is the key to a lock on another. You must observe, remember, and connect the dots across different frequencies.
• BEWARE THE STATIC: You are not alone. The Warden, an entity born of static and fear, guards the prison. Every channel switch draws its attention. The more you interfere, the more aggressive the entity becomes, distorting the world both inside and outside the screen.

Controls

• Mouse: Move cursor
• LMB (Left Mouse Button): Interact with the TV screen and switch channels with the buttons on the TV.

Jam Information

This game was made in 10 days for the GameDev.tv October Jam 2025.

• Visual Theme: The game's central element is the eerie television screen, inspired by the jam's visual prompt.
• Trick-or-Treat Mechanic: Finding helpful clues and solving puzzles (Treats) comes at the cost of raising the "Danger Level" and drawing the Warden's attention (Tricks).
